Time is flying by!

Where has March gone? Since the last post, we have eaten lots of cereal! Tucker loves to eat! He has never left any food in his bowls. He turned 5 months on the 16th, so he got to start on veggies. Since we were on vacation for spring break, he started a few days later. We haven't found a veggie that he dislikes so far. His favorites are carrots...which are also the messiest.

We spent the 2nd half of spring break in Ada. On Friday night, Tucker got to take his bath with his cousins. Our poor kid looks so chubby next to Stephen and Sam. He also got to go to his first birthday party. He seemed to have a great time despite he got carrots instead of cake and ice cream.

Finally, we wrapped up the break by celebrating Easter in McAlester and Ada. Tucker had a very cute Easter outfit including a tie. It was absolutely adorable despite not being able to see the top for all his chins. Everyone at church admired his outfit and then asked where his daddy's tie was. Tucker scored big from the Easter bunny getting lots of toys and veggies. Maybe next year we'll get some sweets!

We're back!

Yes I am one of those annoying people that quit posting for a very long time.

Tucker turned 4 months old last Saturday, and I do admit I was a little sad. My baby is growing up so fast. However, I am excited about all the changes that he makes daily and love his little personality. He's a pretty laid back kid.

We went yesterday for his well baby check-up. All looked great. He's up to 13 pounds and 8 ounces. He will soon be catching up with his cousin who is about 5 months older. The best news for Tucker is that he gets to start eating cereal from a bowl! I have the bowls and spoons in the dishwasher so that we can start tonight.

Enough for now...have tons of laundry and lots of lovin on my kid to do!

We're back!

I have found that it is mighty hard to check your email with one hand (while holding Tucker with the other), so we've been MIA lately. We have discovered the newest thing to keep Tucker asleep for hours...his boppy pillow. He napped in it the last two afternoons, allowing me to get many things done around the house.

I realized today that I have a little less than a month of maternity leave left. I am so thankful to get a little more that my six weeks to spend with Tucker, but I'm already dreading going back. I have always loved my job, but now I want nothing more that to be a wife and mom for a few years. We shall see!

Tucker's First Halloween

Before Tucker was born, my mom bought him a horse costume to coordinate with his cousins. (Sam is also a horse and Stephen is a cowboy.) Well the horse costume is way to big for our little guy, so I pulled out a pumpkin outfit that I had gotten for him to wear to the church carnival tonight. It was also huge on him. I always thought I would have a big baby and he would be able to instantly wear all of his cute 0-3 months clothes. Well I was wrong, so we rotate the few things that he can wear pretty frequently.

He has already grown so much, and is developing a cute personality. He has this adorable sigh that he does after he sneezes that literally makes my heart melt. Being a mom is the most incredible job! I still can't believe that he has already been with us for 2 weeks!

Our first road trip!

We're going on our first overnight trip since baby Tucker has arrived. We're leaving tomorrow after Matt gets off work to go introduce Tucker to Matt's grandma, and then on to stay the night at Aunt Ash and Uncle Noel's house. I am so used to being able to throw my stuff in a bag and be ready in 10 minutes. Wow! That has changed. I was telling Matt all that we had to take for a night away with Tuck and it is completely overwhelming. Considering he sometimes goes through 3 outfits in one night, I am for once getting to overpack without getting any slack from Matt.

Today Tucker had his first pictures made. I've decided we may have to take out a loan to pay for them because they were all so cute! His Papa D was a little disgusted though because he took some nude pictures. How can you resist pictures of his cute little butt though!

Good Report!

We went back to the doctor for more blood work today to find that the jaundice levels are finally dropping! At our last appointment the doctor was a little concerned about Tucker's weight (6 lbs. 2 oz.), so we had to have that rechecked as well. He had gained 8 oz. since last Friday! The doctor doesn't want to see us for 6 more weeks! That means no more poking my little angel with those horrible needles.

Tucker and Matt have also learned a new trick. Matt uses his whiskers to tickle Tucker's belly and Tucker squeals in delight. It's so cute to watch Matt as a daddy. I always knew he would be great, but I actually have to beg him to hold Tucker at times.

Getting in a routine! Praise God!

I woke to Tucker crying this morning, and rolled over to see that it was 4 am. I haven't slept that much since I started having contractions on October 15th! Then I suddenly felt bad because that meant my mom had been up with him all night. After apologizing many times, she told me he had slept for 3 hours straight! I fed him his bottle and he went back to sleep until 8:30! Needless to say...we all feel great today. He's also starting to eat the recommended amount of formula. We go back to the doctor tomorrow to have his jaundice levels and weight checked, so hopefully he'll have put on some weight.
