Week in Review and Tucker's Happenings

I don't know how people with more than one kid have time to blog. We've only been home for a week and I feel like my head has been spinning the whole time.

Friday, Nan drove us to Ada for a check-up for Miss Adde. She was having lots of issues spitting up in the hospital, so it was a follow-up to check on that. She weighed 5 lbs. 9 oz. at her appointment. It ended up being quite the doctor's visit though. The dr. was a little concerned after she spit up yellow film 3 times in the few minutes we were in his office, so he ordered an ultrasound to be done that day. Adde was also on medicine for reflux as well as had blood drawn to check for Jaundice. We were told to start adding a bit of rice cereal to her bottles to see if that would help.

On Saturday, we ventured to Edmond for birthday party madness. We celebrated Jack's 1st birthday that morning with Stephen and Sam's party that afternoon. Tuck had a blast and Adde slept through most of the parties. Adde decided that night that sleep wasn't fun, so we were up with her most of the night.

Sunday, Nan and Pa took Tucker to church in Edmond for Jack's baby dedication while Matt, Adde, and I got some much needed rest.

On Monday, Matt took us back to Ada for another check-up where we found that Miss Adde had gained a little over an ounce and grew .4 of an inch. The doctor was so pleased with her growth!

Tuesday morning, Adde and I took Tucker back to school. He was so excited to see his friends again and had a blast while Adde and I came home to clean house. We then went on our first girl's shopping trip to Target before picking up big brother.

Today, Adde had her newborn pics taken with a few with Tuck. She slept like a champ through them. I can't wait to see how they turned out!

Now onto Tucker:
-4: Tuck puts everything in intervals of 4...I'll take a bath in 4 days, I'll be back in 4 minutes, etc. Cracks me up!
-Sand Table...Tuck loves his sand table. It was the best $20 I ever spent. He spends countless hours driving his trucks around in the sand while Adde and I rock on the porch.

I Be Back

Tucker left earlier for an evening out with Nan to celebrate Stephen's birthday. Whenever he leaves he always tells us "I be back!" Tonight before leaving, he kissed his baby sister goodbye before telling her "I be back!" Melt my heart! Then Matt and I enjoyed about 20 minutes of awake time with Adde in her room.

Adde is here!

We had been given the date for Adde's induction a couple of weeks ago, and the day has finally came and gone. On Monday, March 1st, I went for my doctor's appointment to find that Adde had turned breach. Our OB wanted to schedule an inversion the very next day in order to turn her before she got any bigger. So Matt took off work and drove down with all of our hospital gear since the chances for having to go in for an emergency c-section were possible.

That Tuesday morning, our OB very painfully and successfully turned Adde heads down. We were told that there was a 5% chance she would turn back breach, so we weren't too concerned. I was sore for a few days, but was pleased that she was going to get to bake inside me for a bit longer.
The next Monday (March 8th) we went back to the doctor to find that she had turned back breach. I laughed so I wouldn't cry and asked what now. Our doctor scheduled Adde to make her big arrival on Monday, March 22nd, either vaginally or by c-section.

So we began to prepare for her big arrival for the next 2 weeks. The weather turned beautiful the week before so we did lots of fun things as a family of 3. Tuck and I went on a date to Sesame Street Live. We went to the Thunder basketball game. We just enjoyed spoiling our little guy before his world would be turned upside down.

On Saturday, March 20th, we began to get a highly overrated winter storm, but we didn't want to risk getting stuck in OKC so we headed to Ada. We spent time with both of our families getting ready for Adde's big arrival.

On Monday morning, Matt and I left for the hospital at 7 am. Our families arrived shortly after we had checked in. Then the doctor came by to see where we were at. I was dilated 1-2 cm and Adde had turned back heads down. Praise the Lord I did not have to go through another inversion or a c-section!

Around 8:30 they started me on Pitocin and I began to feel contractions. The doctor came in around 10 and broke my water and said we'd have a baby by afternoon so I needed to either get my epidural or miss it. Soon after the epidural man (my new best friend) arrived and everything went off without a hitch. They came back around 1 and checked me and I was at a 7 but Adde's heart rate was dropping during contractions, so I began having to be turned from side to side. A bit later I was an 8 then the nurse came in and said my contractions weren't as strong as they would have liked them. So the next two rated around 124-127. That moved me straight to a 10, so they ran to get the doctor and began preparing the room. Mom started texting for Ashley and Wendy to come so they could capture it on camera, and they barely made it in time. I started pushing around 2:15 and at 2:24 Addeline Faith Eidson was born!

She is a tiny thing with very long fingers and very long toes! She weighed 5 lbs. 14 oz. and was 18.3 inches long.

I'll post more later about Tuck's reaction as well as our hospital stay and life at home with 2 kiddos.
