We found out in the middle of Tucker's surgery that Matt had been offered a job at Deaconess Hospital. We took a few days to pray about it, and in the end couldn't turn down 40 hours a week and more money an hour.
So...we put our house on the market, put offers on two houses in OKC before finally finding "the one", and began the process of moving. Matt ended up having to start in OKC two weeks before we could close on a house, so it's been a little crazy.
Being a single mom +being pregnant + packing + missing Matt + keeping our house clean to show + having to throw many of our Christmas traditions aside due to the craziness = NOT FUN!
We close on our house in OKC tomorrow and are going to start staying there so that we can be together with the bare essentials until we have time to have an official moving day.
Since this is the first Christmas that Tucker has officially been old enough to know what is going, on it's been hard to have to push aside lots of our traditions. We have been to see Santa as well as see the lights and inflatables in Muskogee, but I'm really hoping that the lack of furniture, TV, etc. in the new house will provide us lots of free time next week to cram as much Christmas down our throats as I can!

Our week in review
It's been a beautiful week...
Saturday, we spent the morning at the church setting up for the church carnival before heading home for an afternoon nap. We then go dressed up in our cowboy get-up for some trick-or-treating. We stopped by Tucker's best buddy, Hudson's house before heading to the church.
Last Friday, we hosted a fifth quarter at the church. Though I took Tucker's p.j.'s, he insisted on staying up until the kids left (at midnight). I wonder if it was the large amount of orange pop that he consumed? We found him later that night wearing one mitten as he slept...who knows?
Tucker has always been scared of the closed in slide at the McDonald's playground, but on Thursday after some bribing with a "dodder" (dollar) from his daddy he went down the slide. Now he can't be stopped. It is the best way to wear him out before a nap though!
Tuck's scheduled for surgery Tuesday at noon. This means no food or milk after midnight Monday...this should be interesting!

Big boy and his baby sister!
A lot has happened since my last post. Tucker turned TWO! Where have the past two years gone? I don't know if it's pregnancy hormones or what, but it makes me want to cry thinking that he is growing up so quickly.

Now that Tucker's Two:
-He's in the 30th percentile in height and the 50th in weight.
-He talks ALL the time and never forgets anything!
-He loves any sports and would prefer to watch sports over cartoons.
-He loves to eat! His favorite foods are spaghetti, anything that you can dip, fruit snacks, and most of all "cheeseburbers". He's not a picky eater at all!
-He recently moved into the big bedroom and got a new big boy baseball bed from Nan and Pa for his birthday.
-He is a morning person usually waking around 6:45.
-He has many friends but loves his buddy Hudson (Hutton) and his cousin Sambo the most!
We celebrated in grand fashion with a birthday party held at our church. I'll post about it in a separate post.
For his actual birthday, we traveled to Tulsa for the evening. We went and played games (got ripped) off at Chucke Cheese's before heading to Ted's for supper. The waiters and waitresses sang to Tucker, but he wasn't a big fan of it.
Last Thursday, we made the trek to Pryor to let Matt's friend from school do an ultrasound to find that we are having a baby girl! Tucker has been telling us this whole pregnancy that he is having a baby "sista" and that he's naming her Tucker Eidson...well one of his wishes is coming true!

Deer
We live smack in the middle of "Deer Hunting Paradise". I think my husband is the only man in the county without a hunting license. I even know that bow season starts today! I bet neither of my sisters knows that!
Tuesday, we traveled to Ada for my OB check-up. The baby is still growing and doing great. After eating some beans and cornbread with my parents, we started the boring drive home. Since Tucker had spent the afternoon at Pa's office, he hadn't napped. He didn't even make it to the highway before he was OUT!
I was enjoying my peaceful, quiet ride home when out of nowhere a deer slams into my car bouncing off and slamming into my driver's side door. I screamed and pulled over on the shoulder where my shaking hands called Matt and my parents. I looked back to check on Tucker to find that he had slept through the whole ordeal! Then much to my disbelief, I saw the deer trot off the road. Tough animal!
I was almost to Atwood, OK so I continued on into town to look for a safe place to park until my parents and Matt could get to us. My choices were a gas station that was closed or the post office. I chose the post office where Tuck continued to snooze until my parents arrived.
So we're down to one vehicle while my car gets fixed. It had some damage of the front end and to the driver's side door. Thankfully, we're all safe and sound and driving around in daddy's Titan. I dare a deer to run out if front of me in that beast!

Tattletale
Tucker's latest milestone...tattling! It's about to make me crazy. As a teacher, tattling was always one of my biggest pet peaves. I implemented a "5 B" rule in my class. My students could only tattle if it was blood, barf, bathroom, bad guy, or bad word. Now my soon-to-be 2-year-old has become a major tattler.
Today we met our friends Danna and Hudson at McDonalds for a lunch/play date. After the boys went NUTS over the sports decorations, we moved our party to the playplace. We endured much screaming of "Touchdown Sooners", "Down, Set, Hut", etc. In the playplace, my son spent the majority of his time tattling on his friend. He came to tell Danna that Hudson (who was standing 5 feet away) hit him on the cheek. I told him that Hudson did not hit him, so off he went. Then when getting told not to open the door, he blamed it on Hudson who was on the other side of the room. We're a little young for the 5 B's so I may just have to hang a big ear on the wall for him to tattle to similar to my daycare employment days!

Kicking it into high gear...
Whew! We've been so busy. My little helper and I have worked two book fairs for two straight weeks!
Now Tucker's second birthday is quickly approaching. Since I got so much grief last year for having his party on the day of OU/Texas...we're having his party the weekend before. What kind of party do you have for a kid who has no interest in characters (Praise the Lord!)...a baseball party. Since Tuck is such a sports fanatic, it was an easy choice.
The invitations have been sent out, and I'm kicking it into high gear!

Back to School
Today was Tucker's first day back to his school (Mother's Day Out) and in the big boy class (the 2's and 3's). He was so excited all morning as we got ready. He talked constantly about going to see his friends "Cede and Hutton". He came from his room carrying two "bobbies" (two stuffed toys), so I preceded to ask him what they were for and that we couldn't take them to school. He informed me they were for Cede. The boy loves his friends!
Upon arriving we were devastated to find that his favorite teacher's husband had passed away, so none of this familiar teachers were present as they were attending the funeral. It didn't bother him a bit! He ran into the huge room with lots of big boy toys hollering over his should "See ya, Mommy!"
The true challenge should be nap time...he's expected to lay on a mat on the floor!

Tucker's Big Secret
Since I'm fairly confident no one reads this blog (except maybe my sisters on occasion) then we can blurt out our big news....
We recently found out that Tucker's going to be a big brother in late March! Tucker's face in this picture cracks me up...he seems a little skeptical about how his little world is about to be drastically changed! We went August 3rd, for our first doctor's appointment. We got to see the heart starting to show activity on our new little bean.

A couple of funnies...
Last night while cruising around Wal-Mart, Tucker kept laying his head over in the cart and mumbling sweet ramblings. Then he'd say "AMEN!" I think he realizes the money pit that Wal-Mart is, and he was praying we wouldn't spend his college savings. No worries, Tucker and Dave Ramsey, we didn't spend a dime!
While at camp, Tucker got a spanking from me for some reason I now can't recall. (You forget the reasons when you have to do it so often...hello, terrible twos!) He went over to some of the girls in the dorm and told them "Momma hit me. She go (and hit his leg twice)." Sometimes it's so hard to keep a straight face when disciplining.
We're headed south for the weekend with another couple while Tucker's going to be spoiled by his Nan and Pa and whoever else is at their house.

Sleeping Around
We survived last week at KBA for youth camp. Tuck did great except for the fact that he came home acting like a teenager. He learned lots of new words and habits from the kids! He also decided that he was too big to sleep in his pack-and-play or his baby bed. All week, he refused to even sit in the pack-and-play. I didn't think much of it until we returned home. Last night, Tucker screamed when he was put to bed in his baby bed. There was no calming him down. Matt finally moved his mattress to the floor and he slept there. He did great! He wondered into our room at 7 this morning with a morning greeting.
I'm not ready for him to give up his baby bed! That means he's not a baby anymore! But we all need sleep! We moved the twin mattress set into his already crowded bedroom this afternoon. While at Wal-Mart, Tucker got to pick out his sheets, and of course he chose the tackiest Handy Manny sheets that exist!
He is now sleeping tight in his HUGE twin bed complete with a monk, monk and bedrail! Why does he have to grow up?

New "As-es"
Golf on TV
While I think golf on TV is a great way to set the mood for a Sunday afternoon nap, the two guys I live with LOVE to watch golf on TV. Today while watching golf (the US Open...I think), the commercials came on. My little guy turned around with the most shocked looked on his face and his hands turned up and said, "Where golf ball go?" Guess we'll have to start dvr-ing it so that we don't have to miss the action during the commercials.

Glasses
Tucker is obsessed with glasses! He loves to wear his sunglasses! The only problem: he calls them "asses". This morning we went to Wal-Mart where he pointed out several peoples' "asses". We met daddy for lunch at Arby's where Tuck got a pair of binoculars in his kid's meal. He pulled them out and shouted "asses". I hope to divert this new behavior before we go to church and he points out everyones "asses"!

Survival Mode
Well we've been in survival mode for the past couple of weeks. We survived VBS despite Tucker getting a double ear infection. He had a great time and still knows most of his verses. His favorite ones are "Esus oves me" and "Be Kind". Now if he would just take the second one to heart. We are back into the hitting stage! Yuck!
We went on Monday to the pediatric urologist in OKC to find out more about Tucker's tinker problem. To sum up the appointment...Tucker got a bad circumcision at birth, we can fix it now or wait until he's a teenager to see if it corrects itself. We feel it would be less traumatic to do it now, so he's scheduled for surgery November 10th in OKC. They said he can bring a favorite stuffed animal or toy...do you think they allow baseball bats or golf clubs?
We made the most of the trip Monday by having lunch with his Nan and Pa, Gigi and Papa, Aunt Ash and Baby Ack, and Uncle Ack and Aunt Hoggie. It was great to see them all as well as bid Ack and Hoggie off as they left yesterday for Africa.
He's becoming a champ at baseball. He holds the bat perfectly and even bends his knees. It is so cute! Much to his daddy's delight, he throws and bats left handed. We'll see if it stays that way!

Home at Last
After driving back and forth to Ada all last week for an intersession class, we are finally home. But not before attending Relay for Life Friday night, our VBS round-up Saturday, church Sunday, and VBS Sunday night. It feels so good to be home!
Tucker is in a big boy class this year at VBS. He was a little unsure at first, but then jumped right in for a good time. He's been telling me his verse from last night all morning: "Be kind."
He's still a little wiped out from last night, so I put him down for a nap a few minutes ago. As I was laying him in his bed he told me "ove ewh". My heart melted!

My Etsy Shop
Well, my etsy shop has expanded to now include domino picture tiles. This was so much fun to make! I'm anxiously awaiting a craft day with my sisters so I can share the fun! Check out the one I added to my shop: http://www.imblessed.etsy.com/
All in a Morning
What a morning!
The terrible twos have arrived!
I have spent the morning keeping Tucker out of the fish bowl, answering the door to a kind policeman because my son set off the alarm, and just keeping up with such an active little guy!
What I've learned...put everything up higher (including my keys that hold the alarm remote that Tucker used to send the cops rushing to my door)!

All Boy
While we are so proud of the fact that our son can differentiate the difference between baseball, football, and basketball; we still want to widen his horizons to things beyond sports. After being hit with a flying golf ball this morning, I decided I needed a break from playing ball.
I moved Tuck's table onto the tile, covered it with a tablecloth, and mixed up some finger paint. It was simple finger paint: a couple of tablespoons of flour, mixed with some water until a paste is formed. The paint is made complete by a few drops of food coloring. Armed with my camera, I stuck my finger in the paint to demonstrate what he was supposed to do. Now our son may be all boy, but he HATES to be dirty. He stuck one finger in the paint, licked it, said it was "eewh", and ran off to play more golf in the living room.
I moved on to another developmentally appropriate task: pouring and scooping. I gave him a big bowl of pasta, a scoop, and a small bowl and showed him what to do. Once again he put a piece of pasta in his mouth and ran back to his golf clubs! I GIVE UP! If I can't make him smart, then maybe he'll make lots of money as an athlete!

Our weekend in review
On Friday evening we traveled to Ada to spend time with both families for Mother's Day. We started Friday with supper at Polos with Gran, Papa D, Derick, and Great-Grandma Cannon. Afterwards, we went to the Eidson house where Tucker worked on his tackling skills with Uncle Derick.
On Saturday, we celebrated with the Fuller clan. Tucker had a great time playing with his cousin Sam. They ran many, many laps around Nan and Pa's house. We ate at Polos again and spent some time playing at Lazer Zone. Tucker especially liked admiring his cousin "Baby Ack".
On Sunday, we celebrated Mother's Day in McAlester. Matt and Tuck surprised me with a picture of them with the mat painted by the little guy. It is so sweet! I had the week off from children's church, so we let Tuck come to big church for the music. He ended up snuggling up with me and falling asleep, so he got to stay for the whole service. It was so sweet to get to cuddle with him listening to his sweet snores. I'm so blessed to be a mommy!
That night at church, Tuck decided to show his growing vocabulary off to everyone! Here is a short rundown of his latest ramblings:
"aios" adios
"happy others day" Happy Mother's Day
"Bible"
"Orge" George
"Un, two, five" counting
He also said many other names for people who would ask him to say their name.
My little guy is growing up to quickly!

A Weekend of Nothing
We had a wonderful weekend with absolutely nothing planned. It was so nice to just spend time together! We did sneak out for a bit Saturday morning when I got to pick out a new kitchen table for an early Mother's Day gift.

Our Week in Review
We started the week off with a visit to the doctor for Tuck's 18-month check-up. He tipped the scales at 26 pounds. He now outweighs his older cousin! He's getting a little "fleshy"! What can I say the boy LOVES to eat! On Tuesday morning, I warmed him up 4 mini pancakes. He loves to dip them in sugar free syrup. He quickly scarfed those down and begged for "moe". I gave him 3 more before he once again wanted "moe, peas". I decided 7 was enough and cut him off!
We were finally given our doctor and appointment date for his tinker revision. From his daddy's research, we are going to one of he best pediatric urologist in the state. We go for an evaluation on June 8th, and will know more about the surgery from there.

Quick Update
Our little guy is growing up so quickly! He is SO busy! The weather has been beautiful, so he constantly begs to play outside. He loves to play basketball as well as run through his sprinkler.
Tucker's new favorite game is "Ring Around the Rosie". He especially likes to fall down as he screams "DOWN!".
Tucker loves to read! That makes my little 1st grade teacher's heart so proud. He is completely obsessed with one book that we pulled from a box from my classroom stuff called Chicka, Chicka 123. We read it at least 3 times each day from start to finish!

Retreat and More Potty
We went to KBA this weekend for a youth retreat. Tuck went along and had a great time. He ran all over the cabin and got whatever he wanted from the youth!
Today was a great day! We had fun together as a family spending time at church (even though Tuck left with quite a mark). This evening we were sitting around visiting with a youth when we heard Tucker grunting from another room. Matt walked down the hall to find him sitting on his potty! He pooped on his potty, but he hadn't figured out how to take his diaper off so it was on. I was so proud of the fact that he understood what to do though!

Tucker's Cousin
Last Monday, we went to OKC to welcome Tucker's new cousin, Jackson, into the world. It was a long day at the hospital, but Tuck did great. He played with his big cousins before finally crashing for the night in the waiting room. He's a little unsure about Jack, but it won't be long before Jack joins the group of rowdy cousins!

Cheerleader
Last night we braved the wet, cold weather to go and watch Uncle Derick play baseball in Bixby. We took folding chairs so we wouldn't have to sit on the wet bleachers. We even took Tucker's new mini sized folding chair. He was a huge fan. My stupid camera battery was dead, so I didn't get any pictures. He climbed in and out of it a million times.
When the game finally started, we made him sit on our laps so that he wasn't running all over the place. We were right at the fence so he actually discovered that there was a game going on. He was a big fan for anyone that hit the ball. He'd cheer wildly no matter what team they were on. He also learned to yell "Go, D!" and "Go, nine!" as well as "Strike!". It was so cute! They won too in case you were wondering!

New Words and Trouble
Tucker's vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds! As I was dressing him for MDO this morning, we were discussing where he was going and who was going to be there. I told him he was going to see Mrs. Gloria who he calls "Oria", Creede who he calls "Cede", and Hudson who he calls "Hutton". The entire ride to MDO he yelled that he wanted the three above people. It's so cute to see him starting to make new friends.
It was also picture day at MDO. I can't wait to see the class picture! I would have like to have been a fly on the wall to witness them lining up 10+ children all under the age of 2!
This afternoon, when I went to pick up Tucker, his teachers informed me that he had gotten into trouble a few times today. He couldn't keep his hands to himself! What should I do? I feel like he is getting out of control. I struggle with him acting up mainly due to the fact that I have set such high expectations for him, but I don't want him to be a total wildman! For once...I'm speechless!

Lots of randomness...
While on vacation, we bought Tucker a pair of sunglasses. As an infant, he always wore them remarkably well, but I wondered if all that would be different now. Nope! Tucker is obsessed with his sunglasses. He wears them inside and outside.
On the way home from Texas, we stopped for a pit stop at Ikea. While there we picked up a big boy table and chairs for the little guy. He loves sitting at his table for snack time.

This past weekend, we traveled to McLoud for Stephen and Sam's birthday party. They had it at a neat train place with miniature train rides. Tucker loved riding on the trains. Most of the time he would say "wow" or "whoa". It was too cute!
After the party, Tucker and daddy came back to McAlester for a guy's night. This was the first time they stayed home by themselves overnight. They did great! I stayed the night in Edmond at Aunt Ash and Uncle Noel's house. We visited the pre-sale for Just Between Friends on Sunday afternoon. I got Tuck tons of cute Summer clothes as well as a booster seat. I'm still not ready for him to give up the high chair 100%, but he loves eating at the table with us. Here he is enjoying lunch today.

Vacation Pictures
I'm finally posting some of my favorite pictures from vacation. We've spent the week recovering as well as having our master bathroom remodeled, so we're back in the groove of things.

We're in San Antonio
A little recap...
We left Monday evening for our vacation to San Antonio. We decided to see how far we could go the first night while Tucker was sleeping. We made it to Austin before I had had enough and was ready to stop. We got a room for the night, before getting up early the next morning to head to the zoo. The weather was beautiful, and the zoo was loads of fun for all of us. Tucker especially liked the "ebras" (zebras) and the "monk, monks" (monkeys). After visiting the zoo, we got to check into our condo for the night.
On Wednesday, we headed back into San Antonio for Sea World. A cold front had come in during the night and it was sprinklink on and off, but we decided to go anyway. A little sidenote here... I have been strongly convicted lately about complaining, and that I need to strive to be happy in all situations. So we stopped at Target for some raingear and jackets and off we went. The happiness came in that a lot of people stayed away from Sea World on Wednesday because of the weather. Sure we were a little chilly, but the park was basically empty. We never waited in lines or fought crowds as we walked to the shows. Tuckers favorite things at Sea World were the penguin encounter as well as the dolphins. Another advantage to small crowds were we got to stand at the dolphin pool for quite a while. One dolphin loved Tucker. He would come right up to the wall and raise his head up out of the water and smile at Tucker. We got some great pictures.
On Thursday, we headed to the outlet malls in San Marcos. They took the entire day...enough said!
This morning we checked out of the condo and headed back to San Antonio. We are currently staying in a beautiful hotel right on the River Walk. We had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe and are headed out soon for a ride on the boats as well as dinner.
We'll check out of here in the morning before heading back to Oklahoma.

Potty and Pictures
Tucker has recently began telling us when he is "shewy" as well as going to get us diapers. Yesterday I found him laying in the living room floor trying to put on a diaper over his jeans. After some researching, I decided to introduce him to the potty. I know he is still very young, but I found that it doesn't hurt to begin introducing them to the potty chair after their first birthday. So last night, we made a trip to Wal-Mart where Tucker got to pick which potty he wanted.

Later that night, Matt put it together and Tucker spent a few minutes sitting on it. As usual, I had to document the moment...I walked into the bathroom with my camera, and Tucker looked up and said "cheese". Priceless!
Here are some other random pictures from the past couple of weeks...
He insisted on holding his kid's pack popcorn on our recent trip to the movies.
Shopping at the children's museum.
Playing in the bubbles with his friend Maverick.
Co-Pilot of the airplane.
The mirror room at the museum.
Look at those legs!
He and daddy were mimicking mommy after bath time.

OK
Tucker is now answering things with "ok" This morning he wanted a "cacker". He said "Peas, cacker." I responded by asking him if he wanted a cracker, and he told me "ok". He has continued the routine throughout the evening.

Thursday
On Thursday morning, we traveled with a group from church to the children's museum. I was the only one on the church's insurance, so I got to drive the church van. Tucker got to sit in the third row with a friend. He looked so big back there talking and playing with his friend.
He had a great time at the museum. His favorite exhibits were the bubble area and the airplane. I tried to get him to go in the shadow room, but he screamed about going into a dark room. We are discovering that Tucker is VERY afraid of the dark.
We returned back to the church with an hour to run home and clean up before meeting back at the church to take the youth to the basketball game. Tucker was wiped out and he sat on the van by the loudest kid. He was so tired by the time that we got to the game that we were spared the usual wallering all over us.

Already almost Thursday
Whew! Where has this week gone? We spent Sunday in Ada for a baby shower for Jack. Instead of driving home and then turning around and going back, we stayed the night at Nan and Pa's house.
We hung out in Ada all day Monday. Tucker got a haircut as well as some quality time with his cousins. We then headed home after I got out of class later that evening.
Tuesday was like many others with a trip to story time and then lunch at McDonalds. We ran into several of the other kids from story time, so we stayed for a while and played.
Today's weather was BEAUTIFUL! After picking up Tucker from Mother's Day Out, we went by Sonic for a Sprite Slush. We then headed home for some time playing outside. Tucker has become a huge fan of sidewalk chalk. He scribbled to his little heart's delight as well as ran...yes he has learned to run. After about 45 minutes of playtime, he came and crawled on my lap and told me night, night. So we topped off the afternoon with a short nap before heading to church.

Catching up...
It's been a pretty busy week. Tucker spent most of Monday in Ada, Tuesday running errands, Wednesday at Mother's Day Out, Thursday at some friends while I subbed, and Friday at home. We also complete the week by attending a few basketball games of some of our youth.
Tucker's vocabulary is growing so quickly...maybe a little too quickly. He now tells us "true" when he's finished eating. He's also very good at telling anyone "no, no" followed by a slap. This is a phase that I hope will be short-lived. Matt has also taught Tucker to go and get diapers from his room. He now brings me many diapers even when he's dry, so if you come over and there are clean diapers everywhere...don't think much of it.
We're looking forward to getting to go to church in Ada Sunday. I haven't been in so long, and I miss Trinity a lot. I can't wait to see so many familiar faces.

Busy (but fun) Weekend
We had a great weekend together! We started off Valentine's Day by sharing breakfast together at the donut shop. Tucker kept a donut in each hand and thoroughly enjoyed himself.
After breakfast, we went to Lowe's to pick out the stuff for our bathroom remodel that we're starting next weekend. We then came home to enjoy a Valentine's lunch with our little family. We then spent the afternoon relaxing before leaving Tucker with 2 babysitters (yes, it takes two) so that we could go out for dinner and a movie.
Sunday afternoon we met Nan for a trip to Tulsa to see Playhouse Disney Live! Tucker sat in awe while enjoying snacks and juice. We completed the outing with a Handy Manny hard hat, a pennat, and a snowcone from Nan.
